Joyce Putnam Eblen was born and raised in Norristown, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia. She graduated as valedictorian of her class at The Stevens School in Chestnut Hill and went on to receive her bachelor's degree in theatre arts and speech from Mount Holyoke College. She earned a Master of Divinity degree from Lexington Theological Seminary and a Ph.D from the Union Institute.
From her first paying job washing an elephant for a traveling circus to her recent retirement from teaching Latin, Joyce has worked as a waitress, hotel maid, professional actress, and counselor. She has published articles in The Disciple and Pageantry magazines. Her chapter on prayer was included in the book, Lifting up Jesus.
Joyce currently maintains an active speaking and writing ministry from her home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Her book, Christmas in the Imperfect Tense: Five True Stories, is available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Infinity Publishing. Her second book, A Hill of Beans--Turning the Lies into Laughter is scheduled to be released soon.
